SUMMARY:September OT Office Hours: Executive Order 14420
DESCRIPTION:OT Office Hours: Executive Order 14420 and What It Means for Utility OT Security \n\n\n\nA national emergency declaration on foreign-produced bulk-power equipment sounds dramatic. The compliance mechanics are still being written. Join us for a straight walkthrough of what’s confirmed\, what’s still open\, and the work you can start today without waiting on DOE. \n\n\n\nEvent details: \n\n\n\n\nDate: September 15\n\n\n\nTime: 3:00 PM ET\n\n\n\nFormat: Live virtual session\, roughly 45 minutes with open Q&A\n\n\n\nRegister: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Fkc2GERSQ0WwJveysH7P_Q#/registration\n\n\n\n\nBrian Scott\, Imperium Global Advisors \n\n\n\nMarina Hardy\, Imperium Global Advisors \n\n\n\nHost: Samantha Becker\, Insane Cyber \n\n\n\nOn August 26\, President Trump signed Executive Order 14420\, declaring a national emergency over foreign-produced equipment in the bulk-power system. It gives the Department of Energy authority to block or place conditions on transactions involving transmission-level equipment tied to a covered foreign entity\, including transformers\, inverters\, battery storage\, and the software and firmware running them. It also reaches backward\, letting DOE place conditions on equipment that is already installed and operating. \n\n\n\nThat last part is the piece that keeps getting lost in coverage\, and it’s the one most likely to generate a phone call you weren’t expecting. \n\n\n\nDOE still has to publish implementing rules before any of this turns into a checklist. That leaves utilities in an awkward spot: real legal authority is in place\, but nobody can tell you exactly what evidence you’ll need to produce. This session is about using that window well.

SUMMARY:OT Office Hours: A Conversation with Kristin King
DESCRIPTION:Securing What Feeds Us: A Conversation with Kristin King \n\n\n\nIn July\, Coca-Cola told the SEC that attackers had reached production systems at its Fairlife dairy business. Every U.S. plant stopped. Weeks later\, nobody outside the company could say cleanly whether the intrusion touched the plant floor or whether production halted because the systems feeding it went dark first. If you work in OT\, you already know why that distinction matters\, and why so few food and ag operators can answer it about their own facilities. \n\n\n\nWe’re sitting down with Kristin King to talk about her new book and what OT security actually looks like on a farm\, in a feed mill\, or on a processing line. \n\n\n\nDateTuesday\, October 13\, 2026 \n\n\n\nTime3:00 PM Eastern \n\n\n\nHosted bySamantha Becker\, Insane Cyber \n\n\n\nWhat We’ll Be Talking About\n\n\n\nFood and agriculture rarely make the list when people picture OT security\, and that’s exactly the problem. The Food and Ag-ISAC has tracked 220 ransomware attacks against food and beverage organizations in 2026 alone\, involving 46 criminal groups\, putting the sector close to its full-year 2025 total with five months still on the calendar. Most of those never make the news. The ones that do\, JBS in 2021\, Fairlife this summer\, follow the same shape: enterprise systems get hit\, production stops anyway\, and the org chart turns out to be a poor map of what’s actually connected to what. \n\n\n\nSamantha and Kristin will get into where the risk really lives across the food supply chain\, from ag-tech in the field to processing\, distribution\, and retail\, and what happens when food\, water\, and energy systems are all leaning on each other. Segmentation\, third-party access\, and knowing what’s actually on your network come up a lot in these conversations\, mostly because they’re the things that separate the plants that keep running from the ones that don’t. Expect practical talk\, not theory\, and plenty of room for your questions. \n\n\n\nAbout Our Guest\n\n\n\nKristin KingFounder & CEO\, AnzenSage · Co-Founder\, AnzenOT \n\n\n\nKristin has spent more than 25 years in cybersecurity and risk management\, with a focus on operational technology environments across food\, agriculture\, zoos\, and aquariums. She hosts the award-winning Bites & Bytes podcast and leads AnzenSage\, a consulting firm built around critical infrastructure security for the sectors most people forget to worry about until something goes wrong. \n\n\n\nKristin’s new book\, Securing What Feeds Us: Cybersecurity in Food and Agriculture (Wiley)\, will be out soon. \n\n\n\nOT Office Hours is a recurring conversation series from Insane Cyber\, makers of Valkyrie and Cygnet\, built for anyone working to keep industrial and OT environments running safely. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThree things to check before this goes live:
